Sunlightsquare has long been the home to tropical, exotic. funky and soulful sounds - and this brand new release is the showcase for an amazing, newly signed talent, the brilliant Brazilian vocalist and guitarist Josue Ferreira.

Josue, having been performing solidly for some years across the world, and most recently in London- is an assured and confident artist -and whilst steeped in the classic tradition of Brazilian singer/songwriters such as Marcos Valle, Jorge Ben and Seu Jorge, he has a fresh approach full of vitality - and once teamed up in the studio with Sunlightsquare's multi-talented Claudio Passavanti the results are breathtaking. These brand new reinterpretations of the evergreen tracks João Bosco's Nação and Jorge Bens' Taj Mahal are both a tribute to, and an extension of the rich seam of bossa nova, samba and Afro-Cuban rhythms that has made this music the timeless and deeply influential sound that has had the world dancing for over 50 years. Josue's quicksilver acoustic guitar skills shine under the spotlight on Nação and the percussive, drum heavy Taj Mahal is so intense it should have no problem raising the dead!

This 6 track digital EP contains 2 Sunlightsquare remixes that add even more hot spice - especially the extended of Taj Mahal, where Claudio has pushed the track directly onto the club dance-floor.. kicking, pulsating rhythms build to an overwhelming crescendo of contemporary samba - it is simply epic!
